JOB PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Director, Data & Analytics for Global Agriculture, the Global Data Analyst is part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team that brings together individuals with a wide range of experiences in business and technology. This challenging role requires understanding of agriculture business practice, and also technical knowledge of what’s possible from data and digital tools, including Salesforce, PowerBI, Azure and other cloud data systems. This role will be part of a new team within Global Agriculture and will have an opportunity to shape the future landscape of data analytics in Agriculture.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design agriculture data model, including enrichment through third party sources
  • Work with technology partners to design systems to support data model design and needed data pipelines to support analytics
  • Work with colleagues in Global Agriculture and in regional Agriculture teams to understand business questions to solve with data, including:
o Prioritizing key reports and analysis that are essential to running the business today
o Expanding on data sources (including 1st party data opportunities and new 3rd party data sources) to uncover new ways of looking at the business and finding new opportunities
o Build a backlog of data sciences use cases / advanced analytics projects to work to drive value for business stakeholders
  • Continue to modernize data reporting / dashboards to improve adoption and usage
  • Support data governance or data quality clean-up activities in the function


KEY QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES:

  • Project Management: defining and shaping your own agenda
o Experience with managing and influencing executive-level audiences, including meeting facilitation, hypothesis generation and delivering conclusions
o A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion
  • Change Management
o Comfortable working with business stakeholders across a range of experience with data and analytics
o Able to establish a case for change and “sell” an idea
o Able to explain data concepts in a way that is approachable and compelling
  • Data Design and Analysis
o Experience with requirement analysis (interviewing, facilitation, gap analysis, data analysis, business process mapping, user interface design and mock-up)
o Experience in translating data use cases, requirements to Data Science/IT teams and translating results into insights for the business
o Strong data management / data transformation abilities
o A demonstrated ability to understand and articulate complex requirements
  • Digital Skills
o Minimum two years of experience working with BI and data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Microstrategy, Qlik, Tableau)
o Previous experience working in a SCRUM or agile environment preferred
o Understanding of SQL or any other programming languages such as Python, R or SAS
  • Nice to have: Experience working in Agriculture industry; familiarity with key KPIs in Agriculture (or strong willingness to learn this functional space)
  • Nice to have: Knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence/rules design concepts and toolsets
