You as a Data Analyst (Insight and Analytics) will:

  • Assist with the overall definition and development of the self-service BI program, including, but
    not limited to: PowerBI configuration and administration, defining best practices and guidelines,
    authoring training and tutorial materials, lead training / onboarding engagements, and participate
    in a variety of data-related activities which will contribute towards the enablement of self-service
    reporting and BI capabilities for non-technical business stakeholders;
  • Apply your knowledge of quantitative and programmatic methods; expertise with data analysis
    tools and techniques; and critical-thinking skills to derive actionable information from data;
  • Distill complex relationships and large amounts of data into intuitive, informative, and descriptive
    PowerBI reports, dashboards, and KPI scorecards that will be used to empower business
    stakeholders and guide business decisions;
  • Partner with business and product stakeholders to assist in the identification and documentation
    of business and data usage requirements, processes, needs, and key performance indicators;
  • Draw on your extensive experience and expertise to contribute towards the development and
    enhancement of best practices in key areas of data modelling, data preparation, data integration,
    data analysis, data warehousing, and other domains of data management;
  • Drive the continuous improvement and overall state of data governance and quality across the
    organization, while leveraging technology to augment metadata, governance, and stewardship

Is this the right role for you?

  • Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, or equivalent. Minimum
    five (5) years of industry experience in a data management, analysis, and/or data analyst role(s).
  • Expert-level proficiency and extensive experience with the following:
    • Data Analysis: SQL, Python, DAX queries, Excel;
    • Microsoft Business Intelligence Stack: PowerBI, SSAS, SSRS, SSIS;
    • Data integration, modelling, preparation, warehousing, and analysis;
    • Data Governance and Quality: Informatica (Axon, EDC, IDQ) or similar.
  • Practical working knowledge of the following areas:
    • Agile Development Methodologies;
    • Data Warehouse: Azure SQL DW, Synapse, GCP BigQuery
    • Data Architecture;
    • Cloud Services: (Microsoft Azure, GCP, AWS);
    • Project Management Tools: JIRA, Wrike;
  • Experience and knowledge of construction-related processes and best-practices an asset;
  • Demonstrated experience solving business problems using quantitative analysis;
