What does real skills transformation look like? For Skillsoft Software Engineer Sai Teja Mankala, it was learning to see systems as a whole and not just the features he was building. Last year, Sai Teja strengthened his full-stack engineering skills, focusing on React.js performance, back-end debugging, and infrastructure tools. But one of his biggest breakthroughs came from learning to leverage AI tools like Cursor and prompt engineering to help him navigate code faster, generate higher-quality outputs, and work with his team better. “I shipped features faster, fixed bugs with deeper system context, and collaborated more effectively with my team,” Sai Teja says. “Overall, 2025 marked my transition from a feature-focused developer to a more system-aware engineer.” This is what skills transformation looks like. Learning to work alongside AI to become more productive and confident in how you solve problems.
What does skills transformation actually look like? For Skillsoft Strategic Account Executive Sabrina Smith, it was learning to become what she calls a “Skills Machinist.” When a customer needed something beyond a standard program, Sabrina realized she needed to work differently. She developed new skills in consultative listening and adaptive program design — learning to ask better questions, co-create solutions, and translate strategy into real business outcomes. Working side by side with the customer, she built an approach grounded in discovery. The result became a repeatable model she’s brought to other customers since. “Skills transformation isn’t about perfection,” Sabrina says. “It’s about partnership. When learning is built with curiosity and honesty, it becomes adaptive, durable, and deeply human.” This is what skills transformation looks like. Building the capability to listen, adapt, and create solutions in partnership with customers.
What does skills transformation actually look like? For Skillsoft APAC Customer Success Head Rachna Shah , new skills were the foundation for a better work-life balance. Rachna leads strategic initiatives across multiple time zones, which meant her default used to be saying yes to every meeting and staying constantly “on.” It cost her energy, focus, and clarity when it mattered most. So she decided to work on work-life balance and prioritization skills. With coaching support and Skillsoft courses like “Setting Professional Boundaries” and “Leadership Insights on Priorities,” Rachna learned to question which meetings truly needed her presence and where it was okay to step back. She learned how to be more present in key conversations, less mentally drained, and more deliberate about where she invests her energy. “I’m still learning,” Rachna says, “but this year taught me that balance isn’t about perfection. It’s about conscious choices, made one day at a time.” This is what skills transformation looks like. Building the capabilities that help people show up with clarity and confidence when it counts.

Technology moves fast. But people move faster with the right training behind them. Skillsoft just made Training Industry, Inc.’s Top IT & Technical Training Companies list again this year. As the tech landscape changes, organizations need to close the gap between where their teams are and where technology is going. This recognition reflects how we’re helping companies do exactly that — through our AI-native platform that maps learning to real skills, content that evolves as fast as the tech stack does, and tools that turn training into measurable outcomes. We’re proud of this milestone. But even more proud of the teams building a future-ready Skillforce™ every day.
Our team had a fantastic week at DAFITC, connecting with Air Force and cyber leaders about the skills that power mission success. The big takeaway? Readiness depends on continuous learning — from cybersecurity to technical certifications to power skills, building a future-ready workforce is top of mind. Proud of our Skillsoft team on-site for helping organizations think differently about how learning drives resilience and results.
Employers believe that 44% of workers' skills will be disrupted in the next five years — meaning roughly 60% of the workforce will require training before the decade's end, according to the World Economic Forum's Future of Jobs Report. Strategic thinking and decision-making will always matter — but the most effective leaders today are just as skilled in reading the room as they are in running a meeting. Emotional intelligence (EQ) has become essential for navigating today’s workplace. Leaders who develop this skill don’t just perform better — they inspire stronger, more resilient teams. Explore practical ways to build your EQ as a leader in our latest blog.
