  • CARMA LECUYER (VP, HUMAN RESOURCES & ADMINISTRATION)

What is your favourite part of your job?
Helping people to develop and advance their careers

What inspires you to come to work every day?
    Our mission- knowledge is power.

What is an accomplishment you are most proud of?
Balancing my career and my home life with my 2 kids-it’s almost like you need a super power

Have you ever had a mentor empower you in the workplace? How did that impact your career?
Yes. Very positive impact in that it provided me with constructive feedback that allowed me to grow at a faster rate while not being sensitive to hearing some constructive feedback.

How has being a woman in a business environment impacted your professional journey?
It has allowed me to become an amazing multi-tasker and I have grown immensely at managing my priorities. What gets measured gets done!

What advice would you give other women just entering the workforce?
Enjoy the journey. Don’t be afraid to take time to have a family and enjoy those years. Success is being able to do both parts of your life well as a woman.

  • YELENA STEPANYAN (DIRECTOR OF INVESTMENTS)

What accomplishment are you most proud of?
As an immigrant, I had to start my life few times from zero. I am proud of where I am now.

How has being a woman in a business environment impacted your professional journey?
I knew that my passion was in investments and markets. However, there were many different roles and career paths, and my choice was driven by the work/life balance consideration. I have 3 children, and being able to spend quality time with them is important for me. Actually, working in a family friendly culture at Knowledge First is very valuable for me.

When you reflect on your career can you give us one example of a change that you think is significant for women in the workplace?
One significant trend that I see is that employers become more flexible. The emphasis is switching from the “face time” to the actual work being done. Working From Home is extremely important for women (especially during the times when kids are sick). That’s another valuable asset that we have here at Knowledge First

  • International Women's Day takes place this week. In celebration, we will be highlighting some of the amazing women who work at Knowledge First Financial.

DANIELLE VADIUS (DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT & STRATEGY)

What’s your favourite part of your job?
Prospecting for new key partners and motivating our sales force with effective selling tools and strategies.

Have you ever had a mentor empower you in the workplace? How did that impact your career?
When I started my career, I had a mentor, a woman, who taught me the power of always bringing value in whatever I do, with a solution-oriented mindset.

How has being a woman in a business environment impacted your professional journey?
I spent most of my career dealing with business owners and executives prominently men. I learned very early on to adapt my communication style and build strong relationship, as a woman.

What advice would you give other women just entering the workforce?
Understand who you are, your strengths and your weaknesses then, find a mentor that will help you grow in the workplace.
