AlayaCare and Freshii join forces to help seniors during the COVID-19 crisis. Starting today, AlayaCare and Freshii will work together to deliver fresh food options in partnership with Toronto not-for-profit community support service agencies SPRINT Senior Care and Bellwoods Centres for Community Living.
We cannot thank all health care professionals, care providers, HHAs, nurses, doctors and volunteers enough for your incredible work and tireless efforts during these trying circumstances. Thank you for all you are doing to ensure our loved ones and communities are healthy and safe!
We at AlayaCare are monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and are committed to upholding the highest standards of client service and performance. Our top priority is the health of team members, clients, partners and the communities we operate and live in. Your front-line staff have critical roles to play in delivering consistent, high-quality care to clients in their homes and they may be understandably nervous right now. Your administrative team at the home office likewise plays an essential role in maintaining client service, keeping the organization functioning in times of stress, and supporting those workers delivering care on the road. To support your staff as they prepare to care for clients during the COVID-19 outbreak, we’ve put together a list of tips and resources for your organizations that you can implement today: https://www.alayacare.com/blog/supporting-your-staff-during-covid-19
AlayaCare is a proud employer of many stars in the industry who are using technology to help revolutionize the way home care is delivered. Meet Naomi Goldapple, Head of AlayaLabs - AlayaCare's R&D division that supports the company's innovation strategy through applied research in machine learning and optimization applications. Naomi's foray into the tech world was an interesting one - her Master's Degree was in developing markets in Latin America, which led her to IBM. "They wanted to develop their e-business in Latin America, which was great training in technology and I was hooked ever since. That led me to then run my own business, and I became very involved in the start-up scene in Montreal." Her advice for young women considering a career in STEM: "Go for it! There is a continuum of how you can participate, from programming to data science, robotics, building products and building the business requirements that leverage the technology. Being comfortable with technology is a necessity for the future how ever you decide to play in it."
At AlayaCare, nearly 40% of our company are women. We are proud of all our talented women at AlayaCare who are committed to building the best product possible to change the home care industry. While there’s still work to be done, we take pride in our diverse and inclusive workplace, welcoming diverse backgrounds of all sorts—regardless of gender, age, race, or sexual orientation. AlayaCare is centred around core values that reflect its open and supportive environment.
AlayaCare is embracing this year’s International Women’s Day call to action to promote and forge a gender equal world by celebrating the talented and diverse women who make up its strong and growing team. Check out our shining stars!!
Naomi Goldapple, Head of AlayaLabs, connected with Home Care Technology Report to chat about AI and its role in the post-acute space, as well as the need for AI to be unbiased, inclusive of all genders, races and age groups. "It is important to have multiple points of view in the technology sector, especially with AI. We need the logarithms we utilize to be unbiased and not based solely from the viewpoint of 25- to 35-year-old white males ... Every industry should be working to be inclusive of all genders, races and age groups to bring more perspectives to the table." https://hubs.ly/H0nq6tm0
Proud to announce that AlayaCare was one of the four companies which won award at the first edition of the Prix internationaux de Montréal, a competition designed to recognize Montréal organizations and businesses that have an international outlook and contribute to the influence and growth of Greater Montréal.
Yesterday, members from our Montreal team participated in a volunteering initiative organized by Mission Bon Accueil which supports the homeless, young single mothers, families and at-risk youth.
