I started a new job mid last month, but KPMG just got back to me nearly two months after an initial phone interview. My current job is as a Senior Business Analyst at a boutique firm specializing in FinTech. A little boring if I’m being honest, but salary is 100k. According to Glassdoor, the salary for this position at KPMG would be ~115k. Senior Associate for Cloud. How terrible would I be if I ended up leaving my current job after two months? Can anyone actually stomach this?

TS/SCI cleared comp sci senior comparing post-grad offers from Deloitte as a GPS solutions engineering analyst (95k base +12.5k 2 year bonus) and Booz Allen Hamilton as a junior software engineer (100k base no bonus). I would like to program and have a hybrid work environment. Which company best facilitates this in your opinion? Is it possible to move into a remote contract if hired for SCIF work at Booz?

Making more money as an analyst comes down to what you analyze, and where. A financial analyst in downtown Toronto likely out-earns an agricultural analyst in rural Manitoba, for example. That’s not to say you can’t increase your pay in both positions relatively easily, though. Try to gain as much experience on the job as possible, this will eventually lead to a higher salary. Mastering computer and software skills like Microsoft PowerBI and MySQL will make you more efficient and increase your performance, which will increase your salary with time. You could also consider relocating, but your cost of living may go up significantly along with your salary.
Before opening negotiations with an employer, it helps to get a sense of what other analyst roles pay in comparison to yours. Find a way to celebrate your analysis, whether it’s putting together reports or graphs or anything else to turn your insights into visuals. This can make it easier for people to understand, which can help make your case for a higher salary.
