    Pros

    -You get to work with a lot of great people and form strong connections with your team and the students you work with
    -Very rewarding job because of the impact you have on others and the skills you gain
    -so many transferable skills
    -you learn to handle conflict like a pro
    -feels good to learn about inclusivity and how to embrace diversity within a community

    Cons

    -long and sometimes unpredictable hours. It's a lot of work but it is definitely worth it if this is the type of job/environment you enjoy.

    Pros

    Amazing benefits with a very good pension plan.
    Pay is higher than in the private sector
    Set working hours and very strict rules about overtime

    Cons

    Too management heavy
    Strong corporate culture among senior management that values profit over academic standards
    Cutting support staff while hiring more managers.

    I have been working at York University part-time

    Pros

    Very positive, super understanding in regarding the students and their flexibility. My manager was really open to all sorts of ideas presented my our design team.

    Cons

    Sometimes there's a lack of structure, but generally if we have questions, there is a structure after established.
