I have been working at Yerdle full-time

    Pros

Culture and companies mission. The people who work here are driven, caring, and are always looking out for the other departments. If operations struggles, engineering will find every which way to help alleviate that stress. If engineering doesn't quite understand what is going on, operations will set time aside and walk them every and all pain points to resolve said issues.
Yerdle takes into account inclusivity and willingness to learn. They push the envelope to allow for people who are willing to learn and excel to take that time to get up to speed and excel in their field.

    Cons

Clarity of roles. Just like many start ups.

    Advice to Management

Having a pipeline for role enhancement (see where roles can potentially head towards) and a road map for future hiring.

I have been working at Yerdle full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Yerdle has the best engineering team I've ever worked with. In addition to the engineering team, the entire staff is hard working, friendly, and smart. Yerdle really cares about culture and takes the time to appreciate everyone; not by handing out t-shirts or schwag, but by actually telling you that you are appreciated. Awesome folks! The business model is solid and the leadership is fantastic. The future is bright.

    Cons

There are no cons really other than the usual small company pains such as managing growth and everyone being mission critical in their roles.

    Advice to Management

Keep on doing what you're doing.

    Pros

I have been working at Yerdle full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Great collaborative culture.
    - Everyone communicates really openly and effectively.
    - The new business model (partnering with big brands to sell their returns through a white label service) is smart and truly disrupting the retail space.
    - Mission driven - reducing waste.
    - Fierce commitment to executing as a team.
    - People produce good quality work.
    - Management is compassionate and committed to employees.
    - Small, agile team that can execute quickly.
    - Lunch 2X a week.

    Cons

    - Warehouse environment (doesn't bother me but could be a culture shock if you're not used to it).
    - Team is small (again just depends on your preference, growing quickly).
    - Office is not in SF proper, but commute is manageable.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up--you motivate the team really well and continued transparency is appreciated.

Make sure all teams have the resources they need to be successful--check in with them on this frequently.

Invest in management training for new leaders.

    Pros

small company with lots of upside. meaningful mission that everyone is aligned around.

    Cons

barely competitive compensation. uncertainty that comes with working at a small startup.

    Advice to Management

It's a small team and everyone know's each other's business - keep that in mind when handling HR or personnel issues.

    Pros

I've really enjoyed working at Yerdle. Everybody is very dedicated to making the product better and are able to re-evaluate how things are working to keep improving.

    Cons

There have been so many changes in process that its sometimes hard to tell how we should be working together.

    Advice to Management

Try to keep a tighter process where everyone is working to a goal that everyone agrees on.

    Pros

Incredible team of people who are super committed to the mission. Worthy mission with the rare blend of worthwhile and big opportunity.

    Cons

Things change a lot as requires. This is more a comment on the stage than the company. Mgmt has a good track record of being transparent with changes and rationale.

    Advice to Management

Don't let the culture go as you scale. Tie to formalize a few practices currently done informally.

    Pros

The team here is committed to the greater goal of reducing environmental waste through smarter sharing - everyone is so fun to work with and so very talented. There is a great work-life balance!

    Cons

It's a startup - you need to define your role and support the company through it while adapting to changes, so it's not for everyone.

I have been working at Yerdle full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Yerdle is a combination of 2 things: a product that is incredibly interesting, complex and fun to work on, and a group of people who are super talented, values-driven, authentic and hilarious. When I go to work I feel like I'm spending my day with friends, but friends I deeply respect, trust and am in awe of professionally. Also - it's such a privilege to work on an environmental mission. Very few tech companies have the opportunity to drive massive impact around resource consumption, waste, energy, and consumer behavior. All things being equal -- why build another photo-sharing app when you can change the world for better?

    Cons

You have to be very responsible for your area and sometimes you might not get all the support you could want... But that's how startups are. We're in a resource-constrained environment and you have to drive your results with the tools you have and you own ingenuity. I personally love that but some people might want more support, resources and structure.
