      Not great, not terrible

      Pros

      1) The people you get to work with on a day to day basis will be one of the best aspects of working for William Hill. Everyone you will meet is super friendly and always willing to help out, especially those who have relocated. 2) The work environment is pretty good, which was recently refurbished with brand new desks, office chairs etc. The 6th floor Agile space and ground floor canteen area are also great additions to the office. 3) Good social atmosphere. New or old to the company, always able to meet people outside for a drink, hike, watch some sport etc and the Sports & Social committee are putting on events every month. 4) Ideal for someone looking for a job for 1-3 years and want to experience the Costa del Sol lifestyle.

      Cons

      1) Hiring policy is useless. Focus is usually on putting "bums on seats" and random job "promotions" for people with no experience in the role, except working for the company for at least a year. 2) Pay is on parr with most companies with Gibraltar, but is often massive discrepancy between people of the same role & experience. Only chance of getting a payrise is through a promotion or a random job change to a different department (see point 1). Don't expect to get any time for learning or personal development either. 3) Product has no real direction and doesn't use any real data or analytics (if it even works in the first place) to drive decision making with most UX driven by people with no gaming industry at all. Projects are started with no real accountability to ROI and get away with delivering products to customer that don't actually generate new value for the business. This usually involves rebuilding the same functionality several times over, because the first one did not work properly or was not what customers actually wanted. 4) Gibraltar office is slowly dying by a thousand cuts. Every 6 months some team or department is relocated to Krakow or London (or even Malta) due to another re-org and then senior management trot out the same old line of no more redundancies for another year. Where Leeds was once immune to this, but with the recent "parting of ways" of senior management this is no longer the case. 5) Still very much a traditional project focused company and mentality. Trying to work in a digital age, using ways of working that once worked in retail 20 years ago.

      Pros

Relaxed Flexible Friendly Good working environment Start and finish when you like

      Cons

It's starting to go to corporate with KPI's and all about the figures which I hope doesn't ruin the work environment.

      Cons

Unfortunately every positive has a negative side and the negative side is no recognition from top management and never the good work was recognised.
