    Pros

Location, good teams, summer hours, fair benefits

    Cons

While the modern Canadian standard workweek lies somewhere between 35 and 37.5 hours per week why are we in the stone age at 40 - more vacation will provide your employees with a better work life balance and less sick time.

I worked at Weston Foods full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There was no formal training provided so if you're a self starter and a quick learner, it will work to your advantage.

    Cons

Very very toxic environment within the marketing department. The management will pit one person against another and does not promote from within. The turnover in this particular department is very high. You're expected to work evenings and weekends. There is no processes set up internally and its blind leading the blind.

    Advice to Management

    Work on process improvement.

I worked at Weston Foods full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There are some nice people to work with (at all levels)

    Cons

Pay is very low compared to market (probably because of low profit margins and no brand image)

Outdated systems (most departments have excel as their only tool)

    Huge employee turnover rate

I have been working at Weston Foods (More than a year)

    Pros

Cross functional partnership - People (the "doers") are mostly positive and willingly work together to deliver targets / goals (many great people)
The intent to change and become a true marketing company has been communicated from Senior Management (but...).

    Cons

Budgets are tight and unable to walk the 'we're a marketing company" talk.
Employee turnover (forced and elected) ... some over our BEST people were released (??), and a few others have elected to leave.
Still the same old company -- very limited transparency
Finance department is a sweat shop!

    Advice to Management

Ivory tower needs to get closer to its people to truly understand where the challenges are. Management made a mistake releasing very good senior people and replacing them with inferior replicas of themselves. (talkers that can't action)
