I have been working at Western Governors University full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Work from home. Some good colleagues (the ones that you won’t accidentally trust just so they can tear you down).

    Cons

Management is the only con. They micromanage everyone regardless of your degree level. Meanwhile, forget about becoming a people leader. They just choose their favorites (favoritism runs rampant), how else would inexperienced / poor performing employees get promoted? It’s good for about 6 months, then the tuition discount kicks in, then you’re stuck while getting your degree. Then once you have your degree you attempt to advance to no avail because again, favorites.

I have been working at Western Governors University

    Pros

Flexible hours, work from home, great use of innovative technology for training, teaching, and communication, excellent team members to work with, always looking for ways to improve efficiency and do what is best for students.

    Cons

Despicable hourly rate for evaluators in positions that require a PhD plus specialty certification. Other evaluators only need a Master’s degree. Yet all evaluators start at the exact same hourly wage. Pay is not commensurate with experience and there is no negotiation upon hire. You either take the starting $22/hour or don’t take the job.
