I have been working at Walt Disney Company full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

    - Some seriously great people to work with - Fun working environment which doesn't take itself too seriously (most days) - Great benefits (if you earn a permanent position...) - Access to parks/park passes - Free snacks and use of coffee/latte machines - You get to support Disney/Marvel/Star Wars games!

    Cons

    - Management team is comprised of mostly internal hires, who lack in games knowledge and any proper management experience/training - Ability to be promoted is based entirely on who you know (or go to church with) and how well you're liked - If you question any management decisions, in any way, you will not see any promotions at any point in the future. The same can be said of voicing any criticism of management team. - High turn over in mid-level management, resulting in frequent shifts in leadership among teams and mixed expectations from staff - Work that falls outside of job description is not properly credited/taken into account - Expectations for efficiency being set by those who don't entirely understand the work needing to be completed to properly support guests - Expectations for efficiency differ between staff members, even when working on the same products - When hiring support reps, proficiency in tech/consoles/computers is not a prerequisite, which seems backwards for a department that supports tech/consoles/computers (only need to pass a typing speed test) - Wages don't seem properly compared to other local companies and are only evaluated (by a team from the United States no less) every two years.

I have been working at Walt Disney Company full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Today the leadership team is excellent, it's an ever-changing environment that hires great people and has great values. The place has a heart.

    Cons

You work hard but you do get to play hard. Confusing to understand how to get promoted.

I have been working at Walt Disney Company

    Pros

    - It's Disney. It's a very notable name that will propel you in to a better position in your next job. - Free access to the parks, cheap merch, lots of travel oppotunities - The production teams are great people.

    Cons

    - Revolving door management at all levels. Leadership changes every 3 months, if not less. This results in constantly changing process, goals, and plans. - High level of bureaucracy. You'll frequently spend more time in meetings rather than producing work. Problems are frequently addressed by throwing more process around them. - Lack of clear direction / decision making. Many decisions come from the gut, potentially ignoring clear and present data that suggests better courses of action - Extremely Political. Your value directly relates to who you know, how well your liked, and how you play the game. - Poor communication. You'll frequently have no idea what other studios or departments are doing.
