Great people, growing company, lots of opportunity. Remote work environment provides flexibility and work-life balance.
Cons
It's a growth company and there are challenges to tackle as new people are brought on and processes need to be developed. The team is focused on creating a positive work environment and continuously improving the experience for employees and clients.

Best company I've worked for. Best CEO I've worked under.

- Culture is A+++++ and is taken very seriously. I started as a freelancer and had a conversation with the CEO even then. But I appreciate it because the minute you join the team, you'll understand that it's worth all of the effort. Everyone is so different yet egoless, incredibly supportive and caring, friendly, competent and all-around good human beings. I've never felt so encouraged to be my authentic self from an employer. - Payroll is a necessity for every business, so everything you do feels like it's making a real difference for the small business owner. - Our watercooler is hilarious. - This is a place where you really get to take ownership of your career and personal development (with a little bit of guidance from leadership). - I feel cared for and valued as a human and as an employee. - Compensation is pretty fair. - Excellent work-life balance. Like the energizer bunny, I can go on and on and on...
Cons
None, really! Remote might be tough some days but there are lots of opportunities to socialize online (Slack, JackBox, etc.) and we've had a few local gatherings pre-COVID. I was worried about joining a remote team again. In a previous role, I developed anxiety and became depressed with remote being a key factor, but Wagepoint makes it really easy. No regrets, whatsoever.

This company is amazing!!! I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be!
Dec. 31, 2020 - Payroll Specialist in St. Catharines, ONRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
First of all, the people are amazing! Everyone here is just amazing! I found my second family! I wake up smiling because I get to go to work! Now for the other great stuff: Thorough, well planned and orchestrated training. Intuitive work platforms that just make sense (and keep improving). Tremendous growth opportunity. 100% remote (work from home - not just for the pandemic). Excellent work/life balance. Friendly coworkers that literally feel like family. Fun team building activities that the entire company participates in, which really brings us all together. Paid overtime. Generous paid time off. Excellent benefits. Paid one hour lunch. Consistent encouragement and recognition. This is a company created by people who love what they do, and love to live their life, for people who love what they do and love to live their lives. Working here has given me the balance needed to enjoy it all.
Cons
I can't think of a single thing.

Feels like a family that is growing
Mar. 16, 2018 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I've been with Wagepoint close to a year and the entire company has been an absolute pleasure to work with. They really do value culture and considering it's a remote company (more on that later) you do feel very close to the team. The company is a strong proponent of having a diverse workforce where I think they are close to 50% male and female staff with a variety of backgrounds, from all around the world (quite literally). Individually I have been given the opportunity to make a difference out of the gate at Wagepoint. My ideas have been listened to and for the most part my solutions have been implemented. Which is quite amazing. There's good work-life balance as well. Working remotely means you don't have to worry about the commute, can eat healthy food at home, save money, and have time at the end of the day to run your errands. Good benefits, good amount of sick days and personal days as well.
Cons
Working remotely has its pros and cons. One of the cons I find is you can't get out much and talk to people. For some, this style will work for you or it wont. But after a few months it feels quite normal. Surprisingly you can get more work done working at home. However there are times where some socialization would help, that is, working with actual people face-to-face.
