RecommendsNeutral OutlookApproves of CEOI have been working at WSIB full-time for less than a year
Pros
Excellent benefits, defined benefit pension plan, decent work-life balance, opportunities for growth internally , a genuinely inspiring mandate knowing you're helping injured workers get back to work. Organization appears to want to get better at serving people and become more efficient. Parts of the organization have amazing intelligent people. Location is also great.
Cons
Lots of people despise the WSIB, so be on-guard when you answer the question "What do you do for a living?" Leadership decision-making is questionable and tends to oversimplify real, material front-line issues. Some parts of the organization apparently have huge morale issues (so I've heard...) Organization has a permanent sense of immediacy, when slowing down and getting things right the first time would probably lead to the better outcome (claims, initiatives, etc.)

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at WSIB full-time for more than 10 years
Pros
Acceptable pension plan and benefits. The pension plan is continuously degrading though.
Cons
WSIB is the most corrupt government agency in Ontario. It is the last hide out of former liberal government employees who have been “legally” hired by WSIB starting from 2015 (compare the sunshine list before and after 2015). Nepotism and favouritism is all over the place.Old lags use filthy techniques to abuse and coerce independant employees to retire or resign.

Doesn't RecommendPositive OutlookDisapproves of CEOI worked at WSIB full-time for more than 8 years
Pros
- Very good work life balance, basically you don't need to get real thing done. - Extremely good benefit and pension plan - Lots of vacation and sick days - Pays for overtime and doubles pays for Sunday and holidays - No needs to care about performance review because it does nothing
Cons
If it is a private company the it would have bankrupted for 100 times. - Don't expect to develop your career. Management send preferred employees (mostly butt-kisser) or their friends with minimal or no experience to training to get meaningless certificate ahead of time. Then post position with that certificate as qualification for good positions - Almost all projects are "The Emperor's New Clothes" - Money just got throw into water by paying to vendors. Feel really sorry to taxpayers as I am a taxpayer too - Not a place for people want's to get work done as in there that is the hardest thing to do.

"Outsourcing responsibility, full time people doing nothing"

Doesn't RecommendNegative OutlookDisapproves of CEOI have been working at WSIB full-time for more than 3 years
Pros
If you're a contractor, WSIB is easy sailing for you. Full time employees have it easy too, no real work, nothing ever gets done.
Cons
Contractors milk WSIB because it's easy, the full time leadership have no idea how to do the job so they just nod and pretend they understand what's going on. WSIB avoids responsibility by outsourcing. IT can never get anything done because contractors and service providers drag out the work to bill more hours and the leadership doesn't care because they keep their jobs if they have a on going project. There is no work culture at WSIB, every department works in silos and many individuals horde and hide information/knowledge to protect their job because they would not be employable anywhere else.
