I have been working at WDS full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The people you work with are great!! But the management team need serious help!! It's a joke how bad the place is

    Cons

The people you work for are a joke!!!!the management is terrible. Goal posts constantly moving. They'll string you along until your contract ends and then just drop you off and not renew it. They'll make promises and they'll be nice at the beginning but the team leaders don't know what they're doing. The deputy ops manager should be running the place because the boss is terrible. The place has two many managers and you can be told to do something by one manager and then be told off by another manager. It's ridiculous

I worked at WDS full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Half-decent insurance, guaranteed full-time hours. (Those are the ONLY benefits)

    Cons

Lazy supervisors, lazy OM's. People always on the phones on the floor during calls when it's a no-cell phones on the floor policy-- agents on the floor on their phones, supervisors do nothing and play favourites. No assigned desk, no cleaning wipes of any kind anywhere. As for other departments, Customer Service/"Care" rarely did troubleshooting of any kind, they passed the buck to us in the Tech department when the customer was good and angry and we had to diffuse the situation before getting any work done.

I worked at WDS full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Good entry level job for experience and agents are friendly

    Cons

Where do I start! upper management worry about meeting their KPIs by using agent till they are burnt out. GM and Ops head of Australia have no sense of employee benefits and how to motivate them without burning them out. No salary incrementation. Pays the federal government approved low rate regardless of your experience and expertise. Team leaders and upper management are not on the same page. No end of year party. It's a shame they don't want to spent a couple of thousand dollars for a party whereas these agents are the reasons they make money. Talk about no sense of appreciation, WDS is a great example!

I worked at WDS part-time for more than a year

    Pros

It's a generally friendly environment. The people you will work with will help you get through the day. Most of the time the customers are nice and easy to take care of.

    Cons

You will get a lot of angry people yelling at you. So You have to be able to brush that off. Lately the management have been getting stricter and stricter, which makes it difficult to know what to do. They've been letting go of a lot of people because of it.

    I worked at WDS full-time

    Pros

Good work environment. Good communication from senior staff. As tech support they focused more on fixing the problem than metrics, though metrics were still important.

    Cons

There was a lack of available advancement. You were trained and could work there for years without the hope of advancement.

    I worked at WDS full-time

    Pros

If you are looking to get a calling center job and know what you are signing up for this place might work for you. There are a lot of friendly people with positive energy that try to make this stressful and not so pleasant job fun. If you do the job right, meet the statistics requirements and don't take irate customers personally, it is not so bad. There is a huge cafeteria with pool table, if you are a smoker, there is a large smoker area and a lot of employees smoke. A lot of overtime opportunities if you are looking into making extra money.

    Cons

First of all the job doesn't pay enough considering the stressful nature of work. Majority of customers are irate and not satisfied with the Verizon Wireless Service. There are many times when you are not in power to do anything to resolve the customer's phone issues. There is a large percentile of customers that don't know how to use the phones, which can be frustrating since these calls are time consuming and you have to meet the average call time requirements. The training time is not enough to cover all the material in order to become an "expert", so first few months you will have to seek for help very often. The annual turn over rate is 96%, sups and agents get fired daily. The floor is in bad condition, the tables are dusty, a lot of computers and other equipment have problems. I would recommend other calling centers before applying for this one. This job is only good for temporary work, unless you get promoted after first 6 months of working there. But even with the promotion the pay is not much grater, considering the amount of work you will have to do. The company recently got bought out by Xerox, I hope it will become a better place to work at.
