- Team members all over the world so co-ordinating overlapping hours requires a bit of compromise for proper communication. Not that big of an issue really, as everyone is very friendly and accommodating.

I joined Voodoo as Marketing Artist, coming all the way from Mexico, without having family or friends in Paris. Thankfully, Voodoo is a wonderful place to work that offered me a fun (and kind) atmosphere, so I feel really good working here everyday. Voodoo is a fun company, and my work is very fun as well.

Cons

At the moment, I have no regrets or cons to say about the company, the people or their methods. It have been very easy and satisfying to wake up every morning to come to work, even if I live in another town that is located 1 hour from the company.

- Strategic vision for core gaming unit is hollow. PMs are made to chase past successes without concrete roadmap for KPIs in new hybrid casual market that has been dramatically changed by IDFA. - Executive Mgmt is no longer focused on gaming and is embarking on blatant diversification strategy. Most of their time is now spent on new initiatives in music and video (where the argument for competitive advantage is quite thin), M&A, personal investments in heath start ups like aura.care (creepily similar to theranos) and surfing - hiring practices are flagrantly abusive wherein 8 month trial periods are systematically used as a cover the time that an initiative can be validated by mgmt or not without passing onto CDI.

- Top Tier salary - Top Tier office in the center of Paris - Flexible remote policy - Full autonomy on projects - Interesting challenges - Brilliant coworkers - Feedback culture

Cons

- The historical core business of Voodoo (Hyper Casual gaming) is going down - Because of this, Voodoo's strategy is to diversify and we already see it's working very well. But be prepared to work in degraded conditions in the meantime (cost reductions, no place for low performers, ...)

Haphazard management and general lack of professionalism and experience in the industry.

- Challenging problems to solve (petabytes of data to go through) - Competent colleagues - Relative freedom of solving problems with your preferred tools - Full remote for everyone (even people close to the office) - Great office in case one needs to use it (located in Paris central district) - Excellent work-life balance - Unlimited vacation (automatically approved, haven't seen anyone abusing it. And if one takes less vacation than the minimum they are due by law (+ RTTs), they are "forced" to take a vacation) - Good hardware + perks - Somehow flat hierarchy (I'm basically a CTO and a manger below CEO)

- Lengthy interview process (something like 7 stages), but everyone goes through it so your colleagues will be as competent as it gets. - This year's annual meetup is only 1 day instead of 3 days like it was last year (because bad things are happening around the world). But is this a con?
