Pros

Once you work here, you will learn to appreciate your former job and anything that comes after. You will also appreciate your apartment more because you will hardly be there.

Cons

Usage AI has nothing to do with AI, they just profit from being a middleman in covering a price discrepancy and taking risks from AWS's billing model. That being said, if you have any semblance of talent or respect for yourself, do not work here. If you can avoid working here by any means, do it. The CEO believes himself to be the second coming of Elon Musk without the intelligence or charisma, making decisions like moving the office to the Trump Tower and forcing everyone to be in the office while expecting extra work hours when he himself comes in halfway through the workday. You will not only be forced to laugh at his jokes, but you will also have to pretend you enjoy being there or else you are out. Firing happens quickly and suddenly, and he jokes about how replaceable you are and how you should be working 12 hour days. Everyday I came into the office I felt like I was losing brain cells as the conversations and work (cold calling and emailing only) is mindless and numbing. This is a dead end job and a waste of time, I do not recommend working here. If I could give this place negative stars I would.

Pros

- Coworkers are young, energetic, and friendly - Teams work together nicely

Cons

- extremely long hours, expect to work a strict 9am - 7pm with no work/life balance - I'm all for criticism as part of professional growth, but it's unacceptable that management reprimanded me publicly and humiliated me in front of coworkers to make an example. This kind of behavior shows how unprofessional the management is, and how toxic the work environment is - CEO makes weird/uncomfortable jokes around employees that normally shouldn't be said - there were benefits available to employees when I joined, but one month after I joined, those benefits were taken away. This was disappointing especially since I had accepted the job with the expectation of having access to those benefits - lack of structure, deadlines are tight and stresses on employees

Pros

- Office in the NYC - Big scope

Cons

- Founder would agree to postpone the Sunday 9 am to 10 am, forget, and fire you by email at 10:15 - Consulting business model; each client required a lot of manual work

Hello! Thank you for reviewing Usage AI. We're sorry to hear that you had a negative experience--we have no record of firing anyone on a Sunday and are unsure why someone would claim this. As for the comment about having a consulting business model, this is also untrue. If we were a consulting firm it would be impossible to have 100s of clients at the same time with the size of our current team. Lastly, we treat our employees very well as they are at the forefront of what we do. We have very happy employees and our HR team would be happy to discuss any more suggestions for improvement. Please email cecy@usage.ai for further discussion, and know that we will be addressing this review with the team so they can learn from it and do better in the future.
