    Pros

Shiny new building! few excellent profs.

    Cons

The pay for international graduate students (TA/RA's) in science programs is way below the living costs published by the university. First year fund is also misleading; tuition increases and salary decreases! Some facilities including gym and parking are terrible.

    Pros

    1. Good place for learning 2. All facilities are available 3. Learn what you do and learn what you want 4. Different opportunities to mingle with different cultures

    Advice to Management

    1. Increase the opportunities for multi-discipline research 2. Increase the funding opportunities for grad students 3. Final exams don't have to be obligatory

I worked at University of Waterloo full-time

    Pros

The opportunities for collaboration amongst fellow students and researchers is great. The graduate department offers several additional training seminars for students looking for training in teaching as well as project management skills. Being close to the accelerator center allows many students to pursue the development of their own start up companies.

    Cons

The consistency in graduate education varies greatly depending upon the supervisors. Be sure to do your research and ask past students for their opinion on any researchers you are considering as a supervisor.

    Advice to Management

More opportunities for guidance of graduate students from the graduate department would help maintain a higher standard of students. In my experience the possible opportunities for graduate student assistance such as counseling and career guidance were available but not well advertised to the students.
