    Pros

    People are great, environment is great, Glasgow is a great city to work in. Would work there again.

    Cons

    Some resources seem outdated or limited. Getting around campus can be difficult for those with physical disabilities.

    Wide research opportunities especially on power electronics and power system. Newly opened technology and innovation centre and sports centre

    Practical works are limited to some research.

    Opportunity to try new ideas due to academica nature of the job.
    Opportunity to develop new skills as different challenges emerge over time.

    Cons

    Academic research jobs including this one are generally lowly paid when compared with similar roles in industry.
    It takes many years to get career progression even with consistent results output consistent with projects objectives.

    Advice to Management

    They should pay more attention to career progression prospects of Early Career Research staff. Assisting with getting publications out quickly and with pursuing opportunities for Fellowshiops. Every opportuniy to expose academic researchers to industry should be explored.
