      Pros

Beautiful Campus, Active Leadership, Consistency and Professionalism. Work/Life Balance was agreeable. TONS of opportunity to "volunteer" despite what professionals usually get compensation for.

      Cons

Salary and increases of promotion pay are on the lower competitive end nationally..this makes it difficult to attract out of state diversity (and for living expenses as Edmond is a little pricier to live in). Expectations to deliver nationally are difficult to meet with low pay and limited contributions for travel as well. This can effect promotion. But it's a decent salary for Oklahoma. Sometimes you have to do committees that require very little of your time other then attendance because there's so many people on the committee. Other committees are highly effective the closer you get to your own college and dept.

Great for undergraduate students who want a flexible employer that work with student class schedules.

      Pros

UCO works well with student workers. They understand that students are in college to get a degree and are more than willing to work with your class schedule.

      Cons

One downside for a student work is that you can not work full time. Student workers generally get close to minimum so pay is low.

      Pros

The university offers great benefits, including paid medical insurance, generous sick time and vacation as well as 2 paid weeks off at Christmas. Employees also receive a tuition waiver for a portion of their tuition or anyone in their immediate family and it can be used for taking any course offered by the university, not just ones that might benefit your job. The atmosphere is youthful and fun and everyone is very friendly. Management is very approachable.

      Cons

The pay is low, but the benefits really help make for that, except you can't pay the rent with benefits. Theirs really not much bad to say about it.

Thank you for your review! The Tuition Waiver really is a great perk, and certainly 2 weeks at Christmas is something money can't buy in most workplaces!

UCO as a whole is great, but certain departments seem to have trouble treating their employees with respect.
