    -A vast array of different research and clinical expertise -Access to a variety of learning and other growth opportunities -Name recognition and vast research network

    Cons

    -Limited vertical growth without further education; rigid HR descriptions of each role prevent vertical growth based upon progress instead of a set # of years of experience -Siloed and difficult regulatory and departmental structure with lots of red tape -High turnover in the research department -Research employees often contract with no paid sick or vacation days, and no benefits -Compensation is low to mid-range for the field

    Pros

    - Great learning opportunities - High standards of excellence which set you up for success in any job or role you go to - Everyone is very supportive of each other and there is great teamwork - Diversity and inclusion

    Cons

    - Favoritism and little room for growth. Select people are promoted while many others are stuck in the same role for a long period of time and not able to grow. - Key information is not shared with the whole team so many times there is a disconnect - Employees are not given opportunities to demonstrate their full potential - Employees are hired externally for higher positions while people in lower positions are stuck in the same role

    Great colleagues. Was paid to attend a conference. Management trusted staff to take ownership for study coordination and administrative responsibilities. Promoted attitude of lifelong learning.

    Cons

    Management was overwhelmed by other non-research priorities related hospital operations during the pandemic. Long lag periods for feedback during key milestones of projects.

    low pay Around 50k for data analyst, which is a lot lower than easier positions with higher pay

    Pros

    The employee benefits are great. Maintaining a good work/life balance is easy. There are many opportunities for growth within the organization

    Cons

    Some teams have a high turnover rate. Quite a few positions are contract based. Salaries are not the most competitive.
