    Pros

    Company benefits include free eye tests and a good pension.

    Cons

    Most management have been there a while but are very inexperienced in staff management.

    Treat staff fairly.

    Higher management constantly changing job roles.
    Not enough investment into infrastructure.
    Outsourcing of improtant manual work to contractors.
    Penny pinching managers.

    Advice to Management

    Let staff settle in roles for at least 5 years before reorganising.
    Spend money on the network.
    Bring contracted staff back in house to control quality.

    Pros

    Large organisation. Lots of opportunities to change roles or careers. Good personal development and overall package. Lots of friendly people.

    Cons

    With it being a large organisation there isn't a lot of opportunity to take much responsibility. Also it is highly political at a senior level.

    Stop constant reorganisations every few years.

    Pros

    Great location at Lingley Mere, with good facilities on site, and lots of good people to work with

    Cons

    None really, however, being a campus location, there are no shops nearby to walk to, but lots of shops are within a 5-10 minute drive

    Pros

    Great benefits package, lovely site at Lingley Mere with onsite gym. Friendly professional work environment. Not your average large corporate.

    Cons

    Caeeer progression potentially restricted due to large number of qualified accountants. Otherwise is really a great place to work, no major cons.

    Pros

    safe and secure workplace, excellent pension scheme, very health and safety aware, health care scheme, share scheme excellent holiday package and customer focused

    Cons

    if you do not live in Warrington and have to travel on motorway to get there it can be very stressful as there more and more idiots on the road

    Need to keep focused on employees not just profits

    Pros

    Wages were good, usually increasing year on year. Co-workers were also great, I have made long lasting friendships working there.

    Cons

    Management have deliberately manufactured an oppressive atmosphere. Any feedback is automatically dismissed as negativity. Management are also lazy and dishonest about the amount of work they actually do, spending inordinate amounts of time conducting private conversations in full view of front line staff, whilst claiming that they are "first to answer the call if a customer requests to speak to a manager".

    There is no consistency in the way the call centre operates. In the space of one year the call centre has changed from being 100% focused on dealing with incoming calls to 60/40 split between working on the phones and back office administrative work, requiring extensive training, and back again. Wasted time and money carrying these changes out.

    There is also an inordinate amount of pressure to sell insurance, usually by having a rep from the insurance company stalking around the office, listening in to calls, and leaving ghoulish cardboard cutouts listing the target to be hit for the month. Hitting this target does not yield any reward, as according to company logic, it is not sales, but instead "promotion". Targeted promotion.

    There are also too many different shift patterns, getting annual leave is next to impossible unless you are a member of management, the job itself is tedious, repetitive and, over time, deleterious to mental health, which is often disregarded by management. Other health concerns such as losing one's voice due to constant talking are also disregarded, under the guise of business needs.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to feedback, instead of automatically dismissing it as negativity. Do not manufacture and maintain an oppressive atmosphere. Do not simply disregard obvious health issues. Ensure that supervisors practice what they preach in regards to assisting front line staff with customer complaints and during high call volumes.
