I worked at Under Armour full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Sport driven, high energy, great exposure, national stage, decent bennifits, flexible

    Cons

-No growth plan, -mismanagement, focused on values -All established polished industry professionals have left or been pushed out. -Always talk of plans, and working up stream yet end of the day still late and always behind the eight ball

    Advice to Management

Show the folks that got you there respect stop shopping for the next executive fix. Promote from with in, and not what little is left of the under qualified inner circle. All the good middle manager/directors leave after no growth. while a sea of outside executives have come in, got paid well and provided little to know help. The energy and life that once drove things is gone.

I worked at Under Armour full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

A fair amount of knowledgable, talented and highly motivated employees. Overall compensation very respectable within industry.

    Cons

The lack of structure and clear strategy results in a very chaotic environment, high turnover and unfortunately the loss of some very knowledgeable and experienced employees.

    Advice to Management

UA established themselves as an authentic high-performance APPAREL brand. The brand has high potential, but the degree of ignorance and arrogance at the top to become the #1 athletic apparel, FOOTWEAR and EQUIPMENT brand within an unrealistic timeframe has resulted in major setbacks with very high personnel turnover. Leadership needs to focus on executing what they do well and not pursue aggressive growth in all areas...

    Cons

No cons. Only boundaries to bend.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you’re doing. Continue to listen to the retail stores and what they have to say. The improvements that you’ve made in the last six months are gaining traction and WE WILL keep getting better.

I worked at Under Armour full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great staff that works hard! Great product. Customers are great. Never run out of product to sell. Great partners outside of retail sector. Opportunity to build relationships with team and customers. Very diverse clientele and team. Discount and benefits are good.

    Cons

Senior leadership unprofessional at times. Retail leadership team micro-managed. Continuously proving yourself to new directors and managers. High turnover ratio for senior leadership. Communication from corporate partners to retail team is very inconsistent. Direction of senior leadership. Code of ethics.

    Advice to Management

Ethics, confidentiality and communication to retail teams need to be supported by executive corporate teams. Must have better communication, bridging the gap of differences. Change is great, but need to have consistent message and structure in all retail stores. Push for National Consistent Execution.
