Pros
The culture amongst most staff, coordinator to sr. manager level is good. Many staff are not local to Colorado Springs, thus staff at these levels become friends quickly as many don't have local friends. My small department was close and generally worked very well together, despite inconsistent direction from leadership. Working in sports at the Olympic/Paralympic Movement is fun and provides lots of opportunities to network and build relationships amongst other sports.
Cons
Guidance and direction from leadership can be lacking, especially in the past year or so. Leadership tends to make a lot of knee-jerk reactions and doesn't often listen to feedback from the coordinators to Sr. Managers who are doing most of the work and connect most closely and regularly with constituents. With the recent changes to most of the executive leadership, there was a lot less effort by new leaders to connect with their entry to mid-level staff than in the past. It is disappointing as there is a lot of good ideas brought forth from that level that often get overlooked or dismissed.

Pros
You get to work in sports.
Cons
Unrealistic expectations put on staff, especially for positions Manager and below. The organization is incredibly top heavy, lots of directors and above, a ton of “strategic thinkers” and only a handful of actual doers. There are a few people in director roles that create chaos and drama and are super unprofessional.

Pros
It's a hybrid, office/remote work position but you still can't escape your manager.
Cons
There's no trust among the employees and management, so we have to monitor even when working from home. It's a lot more stressful working with upper management when in the office because they're abusive and controlling freaks! They want to know every move you make wherever you are. That's because they've been lying to us since the beginning and they fear we'd do the same!!

Pros
I took accounting for a reason and worked as an accountant. I like numbers, not the deadlines.
Cons
The stress I get is mostly because of how incompetent the management is. Deadlines are haunting us daily and even though we've been working 15 hours every single day, we still can't catch up! Management keeps on drilling us instead of actually doing something to resolve this problem like hiring more employees!!

Pros
Most of the people were friendly. It was easy to work with them and ensure that you got along with them without much effort.
Cons
The employee turnover was pretty high. People were constantly getting frutrated and leaving their jobs. The upper management didn't seem to care much about that.

Pros
They pay for the health insurance (though it's not great insurance), and unlimited vacation - department dependent if it's actually used.
Cons
Slow to promote, pays on the lower end of NGBs (esp for a bigger NGB), culture can be a bit toxic.
