I have been working at U.S. Cellular full-time

    Pros

Great atmosphere, benefits and nice base pay..

    Cons

Hours are all over the place and new comission structure is making hitting a nice commission payout much tougher

I have been working at U.S. Cellular full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Company that really stands behind it's employees, good benefits, lives out the Dynamic Organization from the top down. Easy to advance if you're a good employee.

    Cons

As long as you're willing to work and do the duties of your job there really isn't any cons as for as the work environment.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work, stay visible, continue to work on the struggles on regional carries have.

I have been working at U.S. Cellular full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I love the hours, also the benefits are really nice compared to other retail jobs. The hours are the biggest pro compared to other retail locations.

    Cons

The pay is not the best. Also there is constant change, and it is hard to keep up with the change. This job is perfect for someone that is single with no kids. Maybe someone fresh out of college or high school. Also the training is pretty bad.

    Advice to Management

Honestly the best advice I would say is stay consistent. Also work on training your employees.

I have been working at U.S. Cellular full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-If you put in work and make relationships you will succeed.
-many development opportunities. if your in good standing with your manager
-most of the people you work with are great and care about each other

    Cons

-you have to LIVE the D.O. and its like a cult!
-Corporate politics at its best. A few run the show.
    -Overworked, always short staffed.
-Turn over rate is high! 50% or more in retail!
-the company values frontline over frontline leaders and doesn't treat leaders as well.
-no plans for the future. I asked VPs and they said they are just going with it.
    -to small to be relevent
-just launched LTE in 2017! years behind competitors
-Starting to be all about numbers, Area managers consistently say to move people out.

    Advice to Management

If you are not willing to change and invest in the future and continue to put bandaids on the company then just sell and get out of the business. Most of your associates are not brand advocates, the DO makes you fake it.

I worked at U.S. Cellular full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Excellent benefits, great work-life balance

    Cons

Management is hyper-critical when they can't even perform your job duties.

    Advice to Management

Don't hire outside managers who do not know their employees jobs but can tell them everything that they are doing with their job. Seems hypocritical to say the least.

    I worked at U.S. Cellular full-time

    Pros

    Flexible hours
    Easy work
Able to work with latest technology

    Cons

    No benefits
    Low pay
    Not many hours

    Advice to Management

I worked there for about a month and I liked the job itself but it was low pay. I never got my commission check. And there’s no benefits! It may vary with store but that was my experience at U.S cellular. It’s hard to reach your quota when there’s not that many customers!!

I have been working at U.S. Cellular part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

-Excellent pay (for what you do)
    -Not physically strenuous
    -Coworkers typically very nice
-Leaders in the organization are respectable/good people
-Company seems to care about you
-Sometimes you really feel like you are helping people (at the cost of "not doing your job" at times)
    -Great hours
-Was able to attend school full-time as an engineering major + work part-time here

    Cons

-Can be way too high pressure at times
-Your managers success relies on your success so they are likely to set up unrealistic goals and/or apply pressure when it isn't needed, just because it feels like they have no other option
-Plenty of chance to get bad coworkers/bad management, every store is different but mine attested to amazing coworkers/leadership
-At times, you get to be the punching bag for customers and it usually leads to poor mental health if you let it.
    -Way too many cold calls
-You will be asked to be unethical if you have any sense of a moral compass

    Advice to Management

Stop being so fake & unrealistic when it comes to paying customers and stop believing everyone needs $500 of stuff when they buy a new phone. STOP making your "consultants" make COLD CALLS.
