I worked at U.S. Cellular full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible scheduling, great benefits, exceptional products and services, fun job and great pay when you apply yourself. Get ready to have fun and work hard to earn your ballin' paychecks! Very fair quotas and great commission structure. Products you can stand behind such as latest: Apple, Samsung, LG, and Motorola phones.

    Cons

Each store is run a bit differently, some stores have an amazing work environment while others can be downright brutal amounts of stress. It completely depends on your managers as to how well you're going to develop into and love your position. The P.O.S. systems are going on 10 years old, they will occasionally freeze or shut down causing irritated customers or losing business. You must be tech savvy and learn a complicated system inside and out in order to succeed in day-to-day operations.

    Advice to Management

Promote from within, create a training curriculum and stick to it, and update your systems for Pete's sake! Most other phone carriers have customers in and out in 10-20 minutes by giving their employees tablets, whereas a US Cellular interaction will take 30-40 minutes due to computer system issues and failures. The company goes through constant changes, causing stress for sales teams and managers, but admittedly... that could just be the cellular industry as a whole.

I have been working at U.S. Cellular full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

If your on the right team you can work from home.

    Cons

Senior leadership take an blind eye to discrimination from one team to another. If you are one of the lucky ones you get to work from home. Some mangers will not allow you to work from home because they have so little self -esteem in their self's they can't manage others.

    Advice to Management

    Treat all employees the same.

I worked at U.S. Cellular full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Job security, leadership development, flexible schedule, great benefits, some of the best co-workers I’ve ever worked along side.

    Cons

Evenings, weekends, holiday shifts. This is the only negative for me. It’s not conducive with having a family. Miss a lot of family events and sport events.
