Twitter 1.0 was great but 2.0 is toxic
Feb 25, 2023 - Software EngineerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Have done many great projects in Twitter 1.0, loved the cooperation cultures, miss the nice people
Cons
2.0 is just no management. Things happen with no announcement. I need to read the news to understand what is happening of this company. People are leaving. The blue bird has no wings to fly.

Used to be a good place to work - very quickly went to absolute garbage.
Nov 16, 2022 - Software EngineerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
now - nothing. You'd have to be insane to go work there now.
Cons
Recently every single person on my team who was not a white male was laid off, even people who were outperforming were laid off in favour of lower performers who were male and white. - Ridiculous expectations - no communication from management - being degraded everyday - no work life balance - can get fired for no reason at any time - your boss hates you for no reason

Twitter 2.0 is a dumpster fire
Nov 27, 2022 - Senior Machine Learning Engineer in Toronto, ONRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
you get to work hardcore with unkonwn expectations and be discarded on a whim as a power play and vengenance on former employees. CEO will ignore you and then fire you unexpectedly. very fun if you have masochism.
Cons
Melon Tusk hates every single Twitter employee and he came with a vengance to inflict pain and misery because former leadership decided to ban unsavoury people. He keeps tweeting embarrassing remarks and makes you not want to work with such a person as your leader. Twitter will go down in a near future given this direction.

Terrible work culture (post Elon)
Nov 26, 2022 - Senior Software EngineerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Heavy systems expertise Competency with running datacenters Nicest co-workers ever
Cons
Elon is generally incompetent for multiple reasons - Thinks he's an engineer when he's clearly not - Thinks engaging with teenagers on Twitter is product market research - Think people will worship him blindly for his cult of personality

Twitter 1.0 was a dream job while 2.0 is just about fear and intimidation.
Nov 26, 2022 - Software EngineerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Twitter 1.0 was a great place to work. Twitter 2.0 is ruled by fear and intimidation.
Cons
Twitter 2.0 leadership is extremely toxic, lack of trust and respect for employees is the current situation, be mindful that you can be hired and fired with no explanation,
