I worked at Trion Worlds full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good benefits, holidays and vacation time, stocked kitchen, and nice people.

    Cons

C-level was not transparent with employees on company financials. Some employees did not work 8 hours but instead took long lunches. Lazy work environment and C-level didn't care since they were doing the same. Managers spend money on frivolous things when should be watching the bottomline.

I worked at Trion Worlds full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great (gamer) working environment and good benefits (health, PTO). Flexible work schedules though some take huge advantage of this.

    Cons

Love the people I worked with directly for the most part, but after while the veneer wears off. Company can't quite get its act together and many folks are comfortable with the status quo. Over abundance of ego results in hyper inflated expectations of success that never happen followed with a crash. These disappointments have resulted in a resistance to address issues even on a relatively small scale. It's cyclical - pretend like not really great game will do great and blow tons of money at it, major development cycle ends and move onto alpha and beta where it turns out not too many players are interested, spend a lot of money, game fails, pretend it didn't fail, push to squeeze nickles and dimes out of product till the next one, repeat. Don't think about how what went wrong or how to improve, just do it all over again. Pay doesn't come close to an equal (or in some cases, even lesser) positions at other companies; both in and out of industry.

I worked at Trion Worlds for less than a year

    Pros

In term of French Localization translator, the role was extremely rich & varied, from beta bugs fixed, in-game and press releases translations and game (Rift) testing.

    Cons

High level of stress, never ending tasks: 100% pressure each day of the week. The French managers were unable to fit into an American company, just thinking of their personal career. Extremely poor managers they didn't care about their team, made you responsible for the mistakes they done. A terrible work environment.

I have been working at Trion Worlds full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

New CEO has his head on straight and is managing the company into profitability and more success. Great work environment, smart crew of folks.

    Cons

Previous CEO and upper management horribly mismanaged company and wracked up well over 100 million in debt, then cashed and and left us swinging with layoffs and over 2 years of pay freeze.

I worked at Trion Worlds full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company has innovative ideas and the working environment is great. Great benefits compared to other San Diego based companies which were cutting a majority of their health plans.

    Cons

Terrible management, with infighting between department VPs. Hubris runs rampant out of the Redwood City office. Poor communication to their employees. Attempt at expanding too quickly and placing all their eggs in one basket (Defiance) led to a rapid downfall in San Diego. One successful title does not make Hartsman the savior of the company. Watch the company dwindle to nothing as the investors attempt to recoup their losses.

I worked at Trion Worlds part-time for more than a year

    Pros

I had an excellent work environment with passionate people, several of whom are still friends with me today.

    Cons

Future outlook of the company is a little uncertain after End of Nations wasted huge portions of their budget.
