I worked at TravelBird full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Mixed cultures, colleagues willing to go the extra mile for each other.

    Cons

Most employees were inexperienced in tourism and very young. There was almost zero structure and processes were a mess. Almost noone was taking ownership over anything. Leadership was non-existent so it was a problem when you needed someone to turn to for guidance or mentoring. The most important problem: Very inexperienced recruiters! It all starts from recruitment. They hired too many youngsters with zero... experience, and it seemed they wanted to hire ''cool'' people and cared too much about appearance. The company was generating a lot of revenue but was wasting it in unnecessary programs [lepaya, base] and of course in the rent of this building. Renting a whole 5-floor building in the middle of Keizersgracht while all of us fit in 2-3 floors and could have worked from RAI or Sloterdijk to save money....When it went bankrupt it was the doomsday for its merchants. Nobody from partners got their money back. Last but not least: Salary was very low in all departments but higher management was getting paid way too much for their contribution and lack of driving the company to a successful path...

    Advice to Management

They will not listen anyway. Just stop being delusional and in your next company hire PROPER recruiters, not 'hip' girls. And diversify! All leadership positions were covered by Dutch people. You need to be open to new and diverse ideas.
