Certified Medical Assistant

I recently discovered Certified Surgical Technologist. It seems to be what I’m looking for in terms of a career (ability to work 3x12s, little patient interaction). I am used to standing on my feet all day so this I am not concerned about. If you are a CST what do you like about it? What don’t you like about it?

        Pros

The group home teams are highly skilled, knowledgeable, and supportive of each other. You will gain knowledge very quickly while supporting the complex needs of clients.

        Cons

There are cliques in management which prevent fair implementation of disciplinary actions towards supervisors when frontline workers seek support. The leadership team discourages discussions of issues within the team, dubbing it as "gossiping", but actively participates in harmful narratives against frontline workers. Management is unreceptive to suggestions regarding staff safety precautionary measures, dismissing critical risks as inherent to the job.

Hey everyone, Just needed to vent a bit about this job hunt. It's been a wild ride, to say the least. Lately, it feels like I'm sending my applications into a black hole, and I'm not alone in this, am I? Interviews seem to be the rarest gems, and job postings seem to disappear as soon as I hit 'apply.' Anyway, I'd love to hear your experiences. What's been your biggest frustration as a job seeker? How do you stay motivated in this crazy journey? Any words of wisdom or empathy to share?

      Marketing Manager

What are people’s thoughts on those personality and logic tests some companies made you do as part of the hiring process? I frankly don’t like them. I understand if the test is for people who more technical but for roles leaning more creative or ideas based - I don’t understand how patterns I’m forced to review in a short time tells them I’m worth it to get the Hiring manager round. One asked me 50 ques in 15 min. And they never tell how you did on the tests

Anyone have any stories of times where you declined an offer at one company (just because it wasn’t the exact right fit or you got another better offer at that time) and u successfully re-connect? Is that a burned bridge forever? Would they consider you for another job again?
