I have been working at The Hartford full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Paid training. Supervisors are very supportive. There's room to grow if you want to be a claims adjuster.

    Cons

High volume call environment. Literally never any down time. Management wants everyone to be a robot and exactly the same.

I worked at The Hartford full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The pay is pretty good, training is fun with the right trainer, and some managers are awesome (like mine was). They also give you chances to switch your schedule if you meet your metrics.

    Cons

If you can't sit and talk on the phone all day long, then this job is not for you. There is not too much downtime. Some people love it though, so it really depends on your own preferences. I couldn't do it too long.

I have been working at The Hartford for more than 10 years

    Pros

Top company to work for. Working for The Hartford afforded me the opportunity to return to college having owned my BS degree, while partaking in the companies tuition reimbursement program. This company has helped me grow in my career in addition to my daily duties I have been mentored, served as an intern, promoted, entrusted to coach peers and awarded for my efforts.

    Cons

Compensation is a low considering the work I do. I sacrifice my pay because I blve in quality over quantity. Sure I could go work for another company but are they going to hold to moral duty and ethical responsibility? I trust as I continue to better myself and take on tradition roles I will some see an increase in my annual pay.

I have been working at The Hartford full-time

    Pros

I have no boss. I do but management is basically non existent. Clock in, do your job and clock out.

    Cons

Where do I start? 1) pay is low 2) no room for advancement ( even with a degree, adjusting license, and letter of recommendation from a CCT director 3) work every single holiday and weekend even if holiday falls on a regularly scheduled day off 4) every supervisor has a different answer to the same question 5) no free coffee for third or overnight shift 6) every single second of your shift is accounted for, God forbid you have to go to the bathroom 7) supervisors are stupidvisors 8) everyone plays favorites 9) did I mention no room for advancement

I have been working at The Hartford full-time for less than a year

    Pros

-OT opportunities all the time -building has many amenities (gym, large cafeteria, Starbucks) -co-workers are very helpful -department manager genuinely cares

    Cons

-if you don't volunteer for OT, you're basically told to do it -team leaders are more like team dictators -terrible work/life balance. I asked for my lunch time to be changed once because it was given to me an hour after my shift started, they changed it for a week then changed it back

I have been working at The Hartford full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Leadership is very supportive. Nice benefits including exceptional time-off. Stable industry and company.

    Cons

Terrible computer systems that cannot handle certain transactions creating customer service nightmare situations. Call volumes too much for staff to handle having customers sometimes waiting 10 to 20 minutes to speak with correct department. Staffing level makes it almost impossible to get certain days of the week off.
