I worked at The Co-operators full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Great benefits and work life balance, a company with a fantastic moral compass.

    Cons

Salary is usually on the low end of what you would expect. The type of people that work here are completely stagnant for the most part. It is not a place for innovation. The 'innovators' at this company really lack true understanding of what they are trying to accomplish. If you want a company that can advance your skill sets this is not the company to work for. Most of the people that work here are "lifers" because...

I have been working at The Co-operators full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

    - Good company values - Extremely competitive salary/benefits/vacation - Canadian company - Enjoy the people I work with - Don't take my work home with me - Fantastic/thorough training - Rewarding job that sets someone up for success in the insurance industry

    Cons

    - Outside of getting into Claims & Underwriting, I find it hard to grow internally and get into the departments that I want to get into - Micromanaging - Direction is not always aligned amongst departments/supervisors, so you will often hear one thing from one supervisor and something that contradicts that from another - Sometimes found there was a "boys club" mentality which resulted in preferential treatment/favoritism/hints...
