    Pros

Flexible scheduling, unionized, great coworkers, yearly wage increases.

    Cons

There's alot of cons. Its a crappy, job, but the people I work with are great. and The pay is also eventually great.

    Advice to Management

You paid someone millions to rebrand and then forgot a period. It's "Champions of Beer love. Everyday."

I have been working at The Beer Store part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There are definitely worse places you could choose to work - there are yearly pay raises up to a four-year top level, and you will too out at 8$ more an hour than you started at, which is substantial.

    Cons

Depending on your location in Ontario, there may never be any opportunity for advancement unless your manager retires.

    Advice to Management

Do you best to see that employees feel they are valued, even though there may be no chance at moving up in the company currently.

Customers can be difficult at times. Some aspects of the job, such as empty returns, can be dirty.

    Advice to Management

Update look and feel of the stores.

I worked at The Beer Store part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Homogenous group of personalities for employees
    - Everyday is unique
    - Company stands behind their employees right to not be abused by customers (within reason)
    - Get to discuss different beers (especially awesome for Craft Beer drinkers)

I loved working for this company (and am actually trying to go back!). There are days when it's super busy, and customers are jerks, and you're covered in the spit of a thousands mouths from peoples' unwashed empties, but it's an active, usually fun, fairly laidback place to work, and you get to talk about beer.

    Cons

    - Sometimes you smell gross (old beer)
    - Customers can be violent (especially if intoxicated)
    - Union environment means seniority over skill (you may be subjected to

    Advice to Management

    - More and better cameras covering all angles of the inside and outside of the stores in higher-crime neighbourhoods

I have been working at The Beer Store part-time (Less than a year)

    Cons

Dealing with the rude, lazy, arrogant, collectors, alcoholics, druggies, robbers.

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at The Beer Store full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

-Fast paced environment, good if you like multi tasking and busy workdays
-Full time has very good benefits and pension options
-Opportunities will be given only if you ask

    Cons

-Logistics environment is pretty sexist, no HR reps for warehouse locations
-Unions very protected, management gets overworked, underpaid and underappreciated
-Supervisors have little to no leadership or communication skills and should all get thorough training/retraining
-No one is properly trained to be a trainer - training is little to none and results in delayed skill development and unnecessary errors
-Staff is underappreciated and productivity suffers because of it
-Supervisors do not have any interest in the development of their staff
-Have not had a performance review since I started 2 years ago
-Stronger management with better leadership skills would improve the workplace and morale
