I worked at Telefónica full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It's a huge company, so the number of opportunities is huge - and there are generally plenty of opportunities to move onto something new and usually with a meaningful budget

    Cons

Very political - and driven from Madrid. As the stars of the senior management rise and fall, there is a reorg every 6 months - and you can suddenly find yourself +/- 2 levels in the org chart (which matters a lot!)

    Advice to Management

The management talks a good game on change and becoming a digital business, but doesn't always match the words with actions.

    Pros

Good for the people tough not so advance HR policies, just normal.

    Cons

Telefonica is an organizational mess, amazingly complex, unbelievably inflexible, and irritably slow. The making decission process is impossible. The hierarchy is too vertical, too many hierarchical levels. You must learn to live with that.

    Advice to Management

    You must make it simpler.

    Pros

Good work environment, company caters for it's employees. Due to the economic/political situation in Venezuela, it's hard for companies to keep up with the rampant influation, but Telefonica always tried to do its best, giving employees alot of incentives/bonuses.

    Cons

Also due to the crisis, the processes and procedures became a bit disordered.

I worked at Telefónica full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I've worked for Telefonica Venezolana during 18 years and it's been a great experience. It's a very challenging company where you can always learn about cutting edge telecomunications technology in a competitive environment. Continuous salary raises at least twice a year, driven by inflation and performance. You always get the chance to keep studying and the company can even pay for your studies if you do well. You get annual productivity bonuses.

Working environment is outrageous. You can always get someone to help you as the company is customer focused and as an employee you are considered an internal customer for your partners. There are great growing opportunities if you find your way. People I worked with were very friendly and you can always relate with them not only for working reasons, but for having fun afterhours too. Management is aware of the importance of your personal and working time balance and make great efforts in that sense.

    Cons

If you're not a competitive person willing to accept hard challenges, working here might be a little bit overwelming. It's not a place to relax. Other than that, can't find any cons.

    Advice to Management

You're doing quite well. but keep improving, because you can always do better.
