      Avoidance recommended, striving for nepotism

      Summer Fridays, some employees, location

There’s a reason this company has such a high turnover rate. All you’ll find is that you’re forced to do multiple jobs for different departments while upper management sits around, lost and clueless about how to make a company function. TAKASAGO has non-competitive salaries and weak benefits that are subject to change at any time. Employees often end up in a personal assistant type role because of management’s lack of qualifications. The people in management were strategically placed and it shows. The necessity for an overhaul is baffling. I was expected to know each aspect of every department in detail, while frequently volunteered by my manager to do work for others. I was often tasked with things that had nothing to do with my department or role. During my employment, I was harassed by different members of management on multiple occasions. Verbally and emotionally abused, the workplace became extremely toxic. There’s far too much favoritism for anyone to actually advance. Promotions are few and far between. There’s no formal training for anything, you get thrown into the mix and it’s sink or swim. You’re expected to instantly know everything, who everyone is and what they do. Expect to be pointed in different directions and run in circles for every task. Aside from lying being the norm here, they take advantage of everyone they can. This is all in addition to an incredulous and unacceptable lack of communication. Run, don’t walk away.

      Management is crap

CO-Workers are great and work for nothing

The following is in regards to how I and other employees at Takasago Harriman feel as far as the treatment of employees within the company. I have noticed that certain employees within the company have been receiving favoritism from the supervisors or those in power within the company; meanwhile there are employees and former employees that were reprimanded and even terminated for violating the company polices or having accidents. There have been employees that have had accidents in the facility and have not been retrained or dealt with until days later, meanwhile I have seen the same thing happen with African American employees and they have been immediately dealt with or even terminated. I have also noticed how there have been employees who have been suspended and even terminated by the company who are also African American for the attendance policy but there are other employees who have constantly violated the policy and are still working without any repercussions. Even when being talk too some of the supervisors in the facility will not even make eye contact with you if you are African American. It is very demoralizing to see this happen and go through this on a day to day basis. I would like to see things change and Takasago be like it used to be, a place where everyone would be treated equal and I am not alone in these feelings. We are all human and no one should be treated differently based on their race. And just recently one more black employee was terminated for nothing after he gave his two week notice.

Good people for the most part - like any place there are the great and the not so great, but mostly everyone is friendly and willing to help me when I need them.

Fragrances vs Flavors at times instead of all for Takasago.

Sadly no longer a good place to work

Flexible hours, half day Fridays in the summer and depending on your position there is a good work/ life balance.

Some of the upper management employees are extremely unprofessional, they play favorites and bully others with intimidation tactics. Management level employees don't get along with each other and this causes a great deal of conflict throughout the company. The moral within Takasago USA is so low and employees who have spent many years are the company are leaving. Some of these people chose to leave even before finding other jobs because of how bad things have become. The is very little recognition for hard work and there is hardly any room for advancement. Sadly the way upper management treats employees, more will be leaving.
