    Pros

Coworkers are great and hours are reasonable.

Below market pay and your treated like a number in the eyes of the corporation. Sysco wants you to be loyal but they will show you the door to save a dollar regardless of how long you have been here.

    Advice to Management

Stop thinking about your bonuses and think about whats good for the company in the long run.

I worked at Sysco Canada full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good benefits including health, dental, personal

    Cons

Very poor management, hr infractions go unnoticed, non-existent work standards and processes, unfair treatment of employees, negative culture. Many good people have left because of senior management.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees! Hire enough people so the amount of work for one individual is not overwhelming. Offer different incentives for different teams as work is not comparable. Don't have favorites. Coach and mentor all employees

    Pros

You get great experience working for such large companies especially when you are the beginning of your career. My manager was great and the team was good to work with and I got to learn a lot about the industry.

    Cons

Pay is substantially less than similar companies in the food industry. It is pretty obvious that Management level and above gets paid really well but people at the bottom of the 'chain' are not paid the industry average at all, primarily because of HR policy and also keeping departmental costs low as possible is part of the incentive structure of senior management. In recent times, the corporate HR department has gone even worse.

    Pros

You can buy warehouse stuffs at the cost prices. Some people are really nice, but not all. You will enjoy a diverse work environment.

    Cons

    1. Managers are controlling the bottom employees pay at the lowest level.
    2. No career development opportunities unless you've stayed in the company for many years.
    3. Very stressful work load. Get the job done or get fired.
    4. I observed people been served in this company for many years got fired right away due to the budget control.
    5. Managers or directors care about the performance to bump up the bonus, but not the employees.

    Advice to Management

    Nothing. Enjoy your show.
