Pros
You get the opportunity to work with sales data from large customers like WalMart, Toys R Us, Sears Holding and Best Buy thereby giving you an idea how your work affects what happens in those channels. Middle and upper management was very knowledgeable and taught me a great deal about physical distribution and channel marketing.
Cons
The Sales and Operations departments were very silo-ed and as a result business decisions were made without full managerial consensus leading to disputed and, at times delayed project execution.
