I worked at Surrey School District part-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent wages and benefits. Most of the staff are very nice

    Cons

Educational Assistants are more or less treated like objects then persons, hours are given and taken away. Unless you've put in a least 5 + years in to get a position more stable Positions. Positions are given out at a giant auction like meeting at end of school year which is very archaic. Absolutely no room to grow and expand so nothing to work towards. Union is absolutely useless you cant go on vacations for the school year. You get laid off 2 months out of the year so having a 2nd or 3rd job is very common with EA's
