I have been working at Superdry part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    -£7.50(living wage) for all employees
Wholesome and down to Earth company with good values
    -50% staff discount
    -Biannual uniform allowance
-Generally opportunities to take as little or as much overtime as possible
-Opportunities to progress both in store as "hero" sales and with management opportunities
    -Head office placements
    -Partnership with the Princes Trust
    -Founders Share Plan
-More than a "retail" job - expected to task and lots of operational skills
-(Generally) understanding and competent management, normally listen to advice without getting entitled although sometimes they won't listen
    -Internal hiring
    -Sales and Service training
    -Interactive social media
-Most Xmas temps get kept on
    -Area incentives and targets

    Cons

-Music and lighting is awful, although some stores are getting refits
-A lot of politics and backstabbing within the area
-Unrealistic expectations of skewed "My Superdry Store" if a customer says they're "Satisfied" and not "High Satisfied" this is viewed as a negative on overall score
-No bonus system, Founders Share Plan does not payout those who have already worked for Superdry for years
-Company eroded bronze/silver/gold status making it "rookie" and "hero", feels like a bit of a slap in the face if you're on "silver" and part time
-Sometimes expected to pick up work that is beyond responsibility
-Sometimes mismanagement due to managers trying to seem cool and having favourites
-Again, mismanagement - hiring lots of new and inexperienced staff because of poor retention due to unresolved conflict management
-Sometimes expect too much of part time staff: do not offer overtime in advanced or put it on the rota but then get annoyed when part time STUDENTS can't pick up shifts with little notice - put the shifts on the rota and we'll do them
-Limited discount in that it is for "personal" use, low threshold - once basically the whole of Superdry got banned from using it
-Managers seem to be allowed a lavish holiday on the preface of training days when in reality they just seem to get drunk for a few days
-Sometimes need to be overbearing in customer service

    Advice to Management

    -Diffuse cliques
-If staff are unhappy, find out why and stop avoiding the root problem (i.e a staff member you all adore) - this will boost staff retention
-Don't leave overtime shift to the last minute when the majority of your staff are students
-Try and allow staff on the old "silver" to progress to "hero" - unfair that they have extra responsibilities with only 10p extra than "rookies"
-Crosstrain staff so it isn't the same three people doing all the important tasks

    I worked at Superdry full-time

    Pros

Decent pay, hours in most stores aren’t rediculous

    Cons

Avoid at all costs. The management team is going through so many changes and most can’t string words together let alone care for your specific role within store

I have been working at Superdry part-time

    Pros

Great place to work part time and very friendly colleagues. Very good management style and hourly pay is not bad either. The atmosphere there is always live & is defintely a positive enviroment to work in.

    Cons

However its very fast paced so you have to be on board at all times with your role allocated. Standard mantenance can be difficult at times but manageable. Management can be made slightly better.

    Advice to Management

The allocated roles for everyone needs to be changed every hour to engage more motivation for the employees, otherwise it can get boring - which could lead to lack of productivity on the shopfloor.
