I have been working at SunEdison

    Pros

Nice people, Coffee and tea provided

    Cons

Bad rep with vendors, they simply ignore paying for services they receive. You get authorize to pay a vendor via credit card then they claim it wasn't authorized so the monies credit back. What a scam and the lowly staff have to lie all the time.

    Advice to Management

Get an operating budget for each location instead of having to wait and see what vendors are selected in the 'who will we pay lottery'

I worked at SunEdison for more than a year

    Pros

Ok benefit. Frequent free lunch and beer (lol), flexible working hours

    Cons

    1. About people and process: It's a "kid garden", no workflow, no process, do not like workflow, do not like process; unqualified middle management, NO leadership at all, no strategy - they all play by ear, don't know the word "planning"; middle management do not listen, they also lack of courage to challenge upper management in the U.S. You are used there, they don't care about employees, they care how they can use... you to get themselves promoted, they promote people who are good at flattering and blandishing and who are weaker than themselves. 2. About cash: cash dry! Check their financial statements, you'll easy find out they always don't have money to pay vendors, but they do pay salaries on time.

    Advice to Management

Need experienced management - real leaders that care about the company, care about shareholders' long-term interests, care about employees, care about doing the right thing and doing things right, care about building strong team, and most important of all - knows power comes from people below, those who work so hard for you.

I have been working at SunEdison

    Pros

Ambitious company well suited to ambitious individuals. If you deliver on your goals and have a positive and self-starter attitude you will be rewarded. Fellow employees are dedicated, professional and excited to work towards common goals. Company has excellent potential to capture market share in a rapidly growing sector (renewable energy). With the recent acquisition of First Wind the company is now expanding... beyond solar into wind energy. Combined with our work on energy storage technology the company is well positioned to adapt to the changing global energy landscape. Solid foundation for excellent corporate culture is being developed; but great local office culture already in place in part because of the type of people a renewable energy company attracts (generally optimistic people excited about making a difference).

    Cons

Company has been growing fast and some HR and IT systems have not caught up. This may require patience on the part of employees. Lots of recent re-organizing has led to some confusion about roles and responsibilities in the short term but should lead to better performance in the longer term. High expectations of staff can lead to some long days but recently implemented "flex-time" should help with this.

    Advice to Management

Continue to improve communication between executive leadership (and regional leadership) with the broader company. Continue to improve HR and IT infrastructure to allow employees to spend more time focused on high value activities.

I have been working at SunEdison full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

small office, racial and gender diversity across the board, global company, rapid growth and implementation of new policies and initiatives.

    Cons

The name is no doubt big but regional offices look, feel, environment, and process is no different than any other small company willing to survive. There is always a fear to lose your job by not having enough work and corporate big initiatives and changes. Office got no local HR, office administration is horrible, very unfavorable location which makes parking difficult, union station at 30 min walk and driving... horrible. There are no facility of any type for extra activity beside work (e.g., indoor sports, gym, massage/physio etc). Space is too small for given number of employees. Management sucks in leadership skills, and promoting/incorporating culture and values.
