Decisive Leadership, Culture and Mission First, Bad Actors Won't Make it

    Apr 8, 2022 - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

STA is an organization that has decisive leadership. And if you aren't a fit for the culture or if your motivation to serve the mission isn't true, you won't make it at this organization. That's a good thing. If you are motivated by hard work and working in a role with purpose - this job is for you. If you want to ride the corporate wave and be lazy in your job, you won't make it. There are too many hard working people at STA to allow bad actors to stay.

    Cons

It's a grind. So much hard work. If you aren't into it, don't try to work here.

Overall a good place to work

    Mar 19, 2022 - Procurement Transplant Coordinator

    Pros

End of the year bonus, create your own schedule, traveling, something different every day, incentives for picking up shifts

    Cons

Emails nonstop, new policies all the time make it difficult to keep up. 24 hour shifts are brutal and always understaffed

    Corrupting a good cause

    Apr 6, 2022 - Manager

    Pros

The mission of saving lives and helping people was the draw for me. But sadly not their priority

    Cons

Do you enjoy watching people abuse their power, treat minorities like trash, manipulate employees and gaslight anyone who has a complaint? Well then I've got the job for you! Oh, and if you're the person doing all those things, get ready for a promotion! Are you a genuine good leader whos widely loved, works hard, and actuall saves lives? You'll probably get fired. This place must be an investor in Maybelline because they're pros at coverups. Its sad for the families who are waiting because theyre just pawns in this leaderships game for money and attention.

Be part of something bigger than yourself...

    Pros

STA is an amazing place to work. The mission. The people. The leadership. Like most things in life, you get out what you put into it. Being part of a mission based organization is very fulfilling but don't let that fool you - this is hard work. STA is a nonprofit organization with a fun culture but also a very corporate feel. It's not for everyone.

    Cons

This is very intense work. Burn out. Emotional exhaustion.

    Pros

What you put into this organization is what you’ll get out. There are entitled employees who have no idea how good they have it… there are employees who think they can ride the company wave and not do their job… but this organization provides great pay and benefits and has a wonderful leadership team.

    Cons

    Overall… great place to work.

    Pros

The culture of care from the top down! My team cares about one another and we always celebrate our wins! It is easy to love the mission and feel like why you do each and every day matters!

    Cons

Can’t think of any to mention.

    Going downhill fast

Nov 5, 2021 - Anonymous in Dallas, TX

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Benefits, some really passionate and smart people, opportunity to learn a lot

    Cons

Hire toxic leaders, get a toxic workplace it's that simple. Turnover is so high because it's normal to use the mission to make people feel obligated to work harder, longer and accept abuse in the name of saving lives. HR is a joke. Everyone is treated as replaceable and your ungrateful if you complain. It's sad. It didn't used to be like this.

    Pros

Pay, benefits, the lower level staff is a joy to work with, autonomy is great.

    Cons

Human Resources department is joke. COO is a joke. CEO is more worried about public satisfaction and attention than her employees satisfaction. Growing way too fast and they have lost focus of advocacy for donation.
