I worked at Société Générale full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Work-Life Balance Decent salary for the amount of work done

    Cons

I honestly don't know where to start. Half the developers work on old technology not relevant in today's market. You generally don't tend to learn anything at your time here. Politics. You need to be tactful and smart to even survive in this environment. I am correcting my previous statement, you do learn somethings. Things like how to play smart, how to showcase the talent and how to survive in the wild with predators. French don't understand what you say, you don't understand what they say. Whatever little English you might know before coming to this company will be forgotten. Even the official mails won't be properly phrased. The biggest con of all: inequality. So I come from a good college, so I was directly hired as a senior software engineer. But the same work and designation are also given to many developers with 10+ years of experience. This is one reason why teammates try to screw themselves. Designation matters. No one will listen to a good idea if it comes from a developer. People will implement the faulty design the lead proposes. Remember about working smart. People think that if they oppose such a design they will be eaten up by politics and get into trouble. So people leave their spine back at home and come to work.
