Very positive experience as a Software Dev Co-op student

    Pros

    - hard work is rewarded/praised (my pay was raised halfway through my co-op!) - no micro-managing. Help is there if you need though, but you have to take initiative - I was given appropriately challenging work, and learned a lot. - Some flexibility in what you do/want to do: I was offered options for which projects to take up, and where I wanted to go in the future (ex. back end vs front end work) - your voice matters: suggestions/advice to management on product/process was seriously considered & often implemented - nice people/culture

    Cons

    - hours can be long, particularly if its crunchtime on a project or there's some problem for clients that must be fixed

    Pros

We are going to turn Earth. If you have this mentality, if you are crazy enough, you find the right place. Everybody makes decisions, everybody solves the problems. If you can and want to do things, you are doing things. CEO and CTO are in arm's reach.

    Cons

Responsibility is the other side of the freedom. If you want just to do your duties, go home, and do not think of SkyHive till next morning, this company is not for you.
