    I worked at Singapore Airlines

    Pros

Great ten week training program. Great destinations. Great hotel accommodations during layovers. Very safe airline. Computer system will generate rosters for all cabin crew members, so that no matter how junior you are, you are guaranteed each month long haul flights. Teaches you great teamwork, especially when you have to do a meal service on a 1h20min flight from Singapore to Jakarta.

    Cons

Five year contract. You will be forced to resign if by the age of 42 or your third 5-year contract, whichever comes first, you are not promoted to Leading steward/stewardess. Flight stewardesses must resign immediately once they are pregnant. And if they intend to return after giving birth, they must do so within 2 years. No maternity leave. Management has little idea what goes on during the flight.

I have been working at Singapore Airlines full-time

    Pros

It's really a lifestyle, not a job! These days the cabin crew are much friendlier to work with!

    Cons

Irregular schedules which some may find it difficult to cope

I worked at Singapore Airlines full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Very hard to say as I am still recovering from working here. If I were to pinpoint, it would be the salary (which remains more or less stagnant unless you are promoted which happens if you have a sparkly clean record and negligible amount of MCs taken even if you get sick) and travel perks

    Cons

Poor treatment of cabin crew by senior management. It is a fairly regular occurrence for cabin crew to get insulted, shouted at, accused by senior management onboard flights. Instead of providing constructive feedback, they resort to punishment strategies in the form of micromanagement, demeaning feedback, and selective favoritism. In other words, they employ mere bullying tactics to assert their power over junior staff. Imagine being stuck with such an overbearing colleague on long-haul flights. It takes a psychological toll on you, and shortly after, a physical toll too because you will relive the nasty moments in your head once you are alone in your hotel room in a foreign country. Junior cabin crew are treated the most poorly of all.

I worked at Singapore Airlines full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

As a cabin crew, you get a stress-free lifestyle while making decent amount of money. Opportunity to work with people from around the world. Exposure to different cultures. Company provides courses and encourages self improvement programmes that are paid-for by the company.

    Cons

Inconsistent working hours. Cabin crew career progression is slow, it takes an average of 7 years to be promoted to the next rank. Unsure how it is like for the other departments.

I worked at Singapore Airlines for more than a year

    Pros

Best paid cabin crew in the industry with one of the widest network of flight destinations in the world. Offer courses to self-upgrade to crew FOC. Though the quality of the courses have been on a decline.

    Cons

Company culture towards crew is horrible. While there is a ladder for you to climb, it is highly structural and you remain a nobody even at the highest rank. Be prepared to work more than the crew of other airlines. Management will not admit it but crew isn't really appreciated in the company. Company has a very ancient asian culture and speaking up and against general direction of higher ups is frowned upon.

I have been working at Singapore Airlines full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

No Stress after the flight is over, learning curve is steep for first 6 months but life would be more and more comfortable as you get more senior.

    Cons

Welfare not as taken care of, cabin crew always feels that they're dispensable to the company.
