I have been working at Shire full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great compensation package, great people and good products mainly for the treatment of rare or specialty conditions.

    Cons

Further to recent merger, offices are being relocated around the world which results in major turnover and lost of product history.

I have been working at Shire full-time

    Pros

They treat people well overall, a good work conditions, nice looking offices, highly professional environment, highly compliant. Nice Gym and cafeteria.

    Cons

A small company in Canada, not many carrer opportunities for long term objectives, very limited budget for new hiring in Canada compared to global. Global controlls most clinical sites.

I have been working at Shire full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good pay, great benefits, great stock options. The company is developing fast, especially in the area of rare diseases.

    Cons

Acquisitions and restructuring in perspective. In the medical division, everything is all about compliance and SOPs (more than other pharma), which reduces initiative and creativity. No fair balance between work & personal life.

I have been working at Shire full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

People are friendly, good company benefits

    Cons

Very poor and undefined company culture. Discourages any innovation and anything new, despite promoting "brave" culture. Extremely political environment where people are not recognized on skill, experience, nor accomplishments, and people are promoted for political reasons. Business practices are very primitive and basic, and management regular recognizes and celebrates mediocre performance.

    Cons

People already have the knife in your back. They are just waiting to push it into you Management is very poor and want you to sleep with them in order to keep your job Make up lies about you, just to cause trouble. LIES, LIES, AND MORE LIES Managers will do their own assessment of themselves. If they know you have been chosen to do an assessment of them, they want to meet with you at a coffee shop and fill in the survey by themselves. Then they press send...YOU know who YOU ARE!!!!!
