Stability of the oilfield is boom or bust, when oil took a down turn we cut over 1/2 of our staff

Pros
Employees work together for the most part without a lot of political infighting. The culture is focused on unifying employees and creating a solid corporate community. The benefits package is good. The compensation was pretty good, but is less so now since the economic downturn. The company tries to maintain a good worklife balance as much as possible.
Cons
The company does not truly understand the critical importance of extremely organized data management and the need for identifying and negotiating inter-departmental process agreements in order to ensure that the business remains efficient and therefore profitable as the company grows. This means that time and money are spent continually resolving business issues that could simply be avoided in the beginning with better planning, data management and process development.

Pros
Had a good local group of people who were all hard-working and supportive. Great office with a fairly-relaxed work environment.
Cons
Near constant turnover. The resources were never put in place for success. Slow to remove poor performers, stifling progress. Benefits are a complete disaster. No training program. Drive-by senior management.

Cons

Pros
Decent benefits, time off, free exposure to chemicals, might get a jacket if you are a brown noser
Cons
Terminal ops employees are under paid per industry standards. Plant managment is non existent, admin staff are lazy. Saftey and regulation control are a smoke screen. Plant manger cover ups on safety issues. Marketing has no clue what they are doing

Pros
Wonderful Team Spirit - I have met some of my best friends here and there are always social events going on In most departments there is great recognition for high-performing employees Growth has outpaced anything I could have imagined - with a share price to match Good benefits plan with coverage of Gym Memberships Most managers are very fair with regards to work-life balance
Cons
The extremely fast-paced growth of the company has left some of the HR benefits lacking when compared to other companies in the same industry/geography There is a gap still to be bridged between the 'old' company values and the new values of all the many employees being taken on Work-life balance needs some improvement
