      Pros

I love it here, lots of practice and everything except a helmet and boots is provided. Everyone's protected by the union and relatively well paid. It's so cool to be part of making naval ships.

      Cons

Parking Commute The entry level no experience of any kind services/laborers make alot more than apprentices to start, and make almost journeyman rate after 6 months.

      Pros

For the engineering branch, the work environment was good. Can't comment on the other trades.

      Cons

Nature of the work can be stressful. Management structure could use improvement.

The right place for some but not for everyone

Apr 19, 2021 - Procurement Specialist in Vancouver, BC

      Business Outlook

      Pros

The salary and benefits were OK. It was also great to be part of the shipbuilding industry. This is a company (or it was at that time) where you could be, for many years, just by doing the barely minimum.

      Cons

I left the company because the growth potential was not the same for all employees.
