I worked at Scotiabank full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very limited but some opportunity if you play politics and come from another bank.

    Cons

Little respect for entry level and middle management employees.

    Advice to Management

Treat people with respect. Reinstate benefits for pensioners and. Have a basic pension plan. Try promoting good people internally rather than always recruiting from the competition. There are now more Royal and TD people in senior positions in Eastern Ontario than Scotiabankers. You have lost nearly all loyalty and it’s getting worse.

    Pros

Good benefits as any large Canadian bank

    Cons

Senior management horrible, not engaging, lots of favourtism or just ignorance of what is actually going on, doesn't care about employees and their well being

    Advice to Management

Take more care in people you manage or they will leave

I have been working at Scotiabank full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent policies and procedures; great products and services; decent compensation

    Cons

DVP and Regional VP management are not leaders, they tend to be more micro managers and most do not practice what they preach. Move to tech was long over due but it was implemented in a poorly thought out way.

    Advice to Management

Take the pulse of the worker bees from time to time and face to face without a DVP and Regional VP buzzing in the background

Invest more in people, allowing them to have more free time (work from home policies). Salaries should match the market.
