I have been working at Scotiabank full-time for more than a year

    Pros

-great team attitude -share owner program and pension plan is excellent -great benefits -mediocre training -great company to start with and learn industry

    Cons

-awful technology, no mobile computing platform or way to connect with customers using video conferencing -no loan underwriting experience, and low limits for loans -terrible business strategy - advice driven but implementation of long term strategy is impacting the day to day and adding additional work for advisors, with reduced meeting times and working hours -redundant micro management techniques -work under branch management - manager was an advisor 20 years ago and literally had no idea how the current system worked - the better business FI are run by business banking professionals and not branch management and district leaders who don’t have an appropriate background for business banking -stress you out even when you’re hitting your targets -i saw someone go from a CR to a wealth trust in 6 m/o because a DVP liked them, career advancement is not guaranteed -tons of redundancies in the process, very inefficient
