I have been working at Scotiabank part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

There is absolutely nothing great about working for Scotiabank

    Cons

I’ve been with Scotia Bank for 3 years now and at first I loved it. But as I got to understand the banks wants, I really hate it. I work over my minimum hours for the whole 3 years and now they want to give ALL staff the minimum hours offered. Scotiabank only cares about Scotiabank and not the employees. I was really hoping to improve my self and eventually work my way “up” to better job positions with Scotiabank... but now I think it’s better to find a financial institution that cares more about the staff. It’s unfortunate that the bank is changing for the worst. I’ve done extra courses to better my knowledge with the bank and I’ve previously spoke to management about what I can do to help myself “move up” and seeking advice to better myself. In the end they simply don’t care. They hiring new people off the street with no experience rather than move the employees they have up. Scotiabank is the worst please to work for. I highly suggest never to apply.

I have been working at Scotiabank (More than 5 years)

    Pros

variety of perks (i.e. points to use towards purchasing what I want, branch prizes and or recognition, holiday celebrations, yearly partys, yealy bonus, increases each year)

    Cons

Performance reviews every 3 months (feels like they were done monthly)

    Advice to Management

Provide better training to supervisors so they can properly supervise and preovide training, coaching, feedback in a constructive appropriate manner.
