    Pros

Projects are big in scope and as a result more opportunity to expose yourself to different challenges.

Good place to gain experience. That's it if you can last long enough.

    Cons

    Very arrogant and egotistic managers.
Unrealistic expectation of employees without proper career/training investment
Managers use vocal fear to control employees.
No reward for work accomplished unless you are on the management level or personal friends with managers.
Upper management has a buddy system where everyone covers each ones back as long as you are on each other's good side.
LARGE procurement contracts are a joke because contract specifications are written as to accommodate one vendor.
Managers learn by mistake and get away with it as oppose to regular staff who are penalized.
Large sums of spending is done by upper management (work travel, food, accommodation, petty cash) and often nothing is left over for the employees.
Salary is not competitive with lots of good employees jumping ship unless you have been working many years and have friends in management.
Fake professionals that hide behind people with corporate authorities.

    Advice to Management

Typical rotten apples in large corporations. Not sure if this is an isolated incident or it is with every department. Even CEO and replacement CEO left company. Not even sure if these issues can ever be solved.

    Pros

Teamwork and good project process. Acess to mentorship and to build experience on major projects

    Cons

Don't invest enough in longtime employees. Salary raise and bonus very low.

    Advice to Management

Should invest more in longtime employees. Salary raise and bonus should be given as per quality of performance as well as more possibility to young managers to climb the organization

I have been working at SNC-Lavalin Constructors full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Snc-Lavalin is full of wonderful individuals who are bright and talented and make the overall day to day experience tolerable

    Cons

Considering how bright and fun the people here are, they can't seem to get anything right. The company the last few years has been mismanaged, the leadership is practically non existent and communication between departments is actually non existent. There are a lot of chefs in the kitchen none of whom seem to know what's actually going on.

    Advice to Management

The executive team needs to be removed, there is too much old enron blood. SNC-Lavalin Constructors needs a fresh perspective with fresh eyes and an entirely new team to lead this once great team to victory again.
